Ashfield, Massachusetts
I discovered this magnificent barn while taking a shortcut to town.
I discovered this magnificent barn while taking a shortcut to town.
I never noticed the ant (lower left) when I took the picture!
Moove Along
This Ashfield cow either didn't want to be photographed or she wanted her closeup and even though I'm accustomed to being around farm animals, I decided that I wasn't going to stick around to find out. She was moving pretty quickly through the pasture and I wasn't convinced that the one wire electric fence was going to be much of a deterrent!

I love your red, white & moo! That barn is beautiful and definitely red.
I'm like you I been around farm animals but I don't blame you for moving away from that cow, she has a strange look in her eye.
Great photos,
Judy
I have never seen such a magnificent barn! It's beautiful!
Great photo of the cow. She's definately making eye contact with you there! Maybe she thought you were bringing her a treat. :)
Three beautiful shots! The barn looks like it has a fresh coat of paint on it because it is so shinny.
The QA lace is beautiful, ant or no ant.
The heifer looked like she was just inquisitive. She had that look. Maybe she wanted to eat your camera.
Love barns, and that one is a dandy.
Wise move with the cow. I was once attacked by a dairy cow that had just been robbed of her baby. Scary.
Great photos. It might be because I live among cornfields or something like that but I love barns. They have so much character and this one is magnificent. I would love to have a look inside that one.
Great pictures Sunny, The barn is so perfect. I would love to see one like that. The Queen Anne's Lace is beautiful and I don't blame yo for stepping away from the cow. It looks like she hasn't had her morning cud yet. :-)
Great shots. I have wanted to live on a farm since I was a little girl, but I really don't think that in this stage of my life it will ever happen.
Hi Sunny, great set of photos. The red barn is fabulous, the Queen Anne's lace is a work of art and that cow? Made me smile because as lovable as they are I am with you, I wouldn't want to hang around to see if that electric fence held, because as friendly as they are, the thought of one of those hooves stepping on my foot - ouch!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my 'uh-oh' post. No problems as I stayed well clear of x-ing out of that page, a natural thing for us to want to do that but asking for major problems. Best just to shut down the computer entirely first. I have Norton anti-virus by the way. Do you prefer yours and if so, what do you like about it?
Sunny...a woman after my own heart! If you have visited my blog, you know that I truly love old barns. When I saw your comment on "Soaring through the World"..I had to visit. I really like the feel of your blog and will return again.
Dan
I've only been to New England once but the barn had a familiar feel about it, I just knew it was a New England barn.
What a fun post, Sunny! I love the red, white and moo you found. Neat that you discovered the ant on Queen Anne's Lace later when looking at the picture.
I love the title and that barn is fabulous!
Beautiful barn and adorable cow! How fun! The image of the Queen Anne's Lace is wonderful.
Sunny, Thanks for following my blog and for your comments on the "Soaring" site as well.
One more thing on your barn pic...for an old barn...it really looks to be in good shape. Most of the old barns in this area are in a sad shape of deterioration.

Nice pictures of the barn. Cool title too. hehe
The cow, looked up set, maybe she is a guard cow?
Very pretty photos....and what a cute cow!!
Hi Sunny! Ohhhh I love this entry with farms barns and a cow! Moooo!
I happen to loveesss barns, like you, it does'nt matter if they are old or delapidated or new or round or whatever, I love them.
Barns are an icon of our country :) They make me feel all warm and cozy, like books on my bookshelves do. :)
Have a good evening my new friend :)
She does appear to have determination about something. Hopefully it wasn't you, but don't blame you for not waiting to find out.
