Whitcomb Summit

Elk Statue
Whitcomb Summit is located in the tiny town of Florida, Massachusetts and is the highest point of the Mohawk Trail at 2,172 feet. The statue is dedicated to Elk members who offered their lives in all wars and to peace.

Time Capsule
There is no mention of this time capsule in any of the information I researched. It was either placed in 1923 when the statue was first dedicated or 1973 when it was re-dedicated.

Mohawk Trail View
Reminds me of the song, 'On A Clear Day'.

I love this view, Sunny, and always feel a little in awe when I travel the Mohawk Trail. The mountains are so ancient and wise.

I wish I knew what was in that time capusle now. Interesting that there wasn't any info on it.

Yep, that's the Florida I wake up to each morning. Wait, where is the Gulf of Mexico, the palm trees, and we don't have mountains...not even little hills. Must be your gorgeous Florida, Sunny.

I am fascinated and intrigued by the time capsule.

Wonderful pictures. I would love to see a time capsule opened.
My 3rd or 4th grade class did a 100yr time capsule in 1976. I doubt I'll be around when it's opened.

I love the view from the Mohawk trail, that is beautiful. Those mountains remind me of childhood vacations with my parents in north Georgia.

Time capsules facinate me. My timing must be off, have never seen one opened. Drat.
Love to have that view from my front porch. Just beautiful.

How beautiful, and what a magnificent statue, and such stunning scenery. I've never seen a time capsule like that before. Would be wonderful to be there at its opening.
