Just outside the back door we can walk beside the old stone wall...We may even find some wildflowers tucked in amongst the stones...
Or spot a Dragonfly sunning on the Coleus...
We can sit a spell in the shade...
Then pick Rose Hips to make some tea...and contemplate Autumn just around the corner.
*Fresh Rose Hips Tea*
Take 5 whole rose hips or 2 teaspoons cut up.
Make sure they are clean and free of any pesticides.
Place in cup and cover with boiling water.
Let steep for at least 10 minutes.
Sweeten with sugar or honey.

lovely little series of shots. can you really make rose hip tea simply by steeping the hips? is there nothing else special that must be done? i do love that last photograph.
Beautiful scenes. I love the old stone wall.
Brattcat,
You can steep the hips as is or dry them. As is; you use about 5 per cup or 2 teaspoons if you cut them up, and steep for 10 minutes. Just make sure they are really clean and free of any pesticides. A touch of honey is good.
Thank you for your nice comments.
Sunny :)
You did a great job with these pictures. I love the old stone wall with the ferns peeking out everywhere. Your close-ups are so detailed and pretty.
Summer is fadeing fast. I love autumn, when nature clothes herself in a coat of many colors. Leaves as bright as jewels.
The old stone wall is a treasure trove of beauty and wonder. I'm not familiar with rose hips but they remind me of pomegranates. Lovely images.
I love that rose hips photo. I didn't know you could use them fresh for tea. Thanks
“Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence. Summer passes and one remembers one's exuberance. Autumn passes and one remembers one's reverence. Winter passes and one remembers one's perseverance.”
I so love stone walls. Around here there are mountains of stone and yet they didn't build stone walls. I don't know why.
Beautiful and restful, Sunny. I love the recipe for Rose Hips Tea. No roses here in Khartoum but the Free State where we live in SA, is the rose province of SA. Thanks for sharing. (((Hugs))) Joxxx
Great pictures Sunny. It's amazing how much beauty you have just outside of your door.
Loved taking the walk with you. It is beautiful outside your back door. I bet it is pretty when the leaves change color.
Brilliant photos.
Partically like the detail with the Rose Hip photo.
Thanks for sharing the instructions to make the tea. Will have to try it.
Kind Regards :)
What a lovely place to be!!!
My wife and I flew over your state just yesterday, headed for JFK. We will drive next time and plan to visit your beautiful state. I have been there, many years ago. Great blog.

Sorry, I am so getting here. I am still playing catchup from last weeks Theme Thursday. So glad to have you visit my site and the nice comment.
I am delighted to find your site as well. You have a lovely blog and appear to live in my kind of place. I also learned something with my visit today. I did not know what Rose Hips were or where they came from. I have enjoyed the tea made from them before though.
So happy to have you sign up to follow my humble site. Hope you continue to find content worth returning for.
Sincerely, Rita aka Cashcocky
Hi Sunny, Looks wonderful. I can tell that Autumn is on the way. I'll be there soon and would love to sit on your bench and enjoy some tea with you....
Hugs,
Betsy
Just lovely photos Sunny !
I love old stone walls, I seek them out..
Here in Tennessee our native rock is limestone it's everywhere, and the farmers made good use of it, lining their fields with stacks and stacks.
I must try the rosehips tea, it sounds delicious.
The bench looks so inviting.
Hi Sunny
this is a lovely restful series of pics Sunny...
My kids grew up on rosehip syrup as babies. Unfortunately the high sugar content did terrible damage to one of my daughter's baby teeth...
Happy days
I know of rose hip tea, but have never tried it...the photo of them is very nice and they do look like larger pomegranates.
Beautiful photos Sunny, and I've never had rose hip tea before. I will have to remember your recipe.
Okay. I want to sit on that bench and soak up the surroundings!
Thank you all for your lovely comments, it makes this all worthwhile.
Sunny :)
A stunning sitting place where time stops, where you can sip rose hip tea and wonder where are those autumn fairies!
Ohh... such glorious moments for you to enjoy!
A lovely peaceful stroll and excellent photos. We have lots of wild roses here and I have been photographing the rose hips and lovely red leaves. Fall is definitely beginning.
What a beautiful country you live in, such lovely photos.
Thank you for visiting me. I grew up in Cornwall too!
What a wonderful place you have to wander around in, Sunny. I do miss the northern countryside... It brings back fond memories for me.
Sunny...great photos...the stone wall SCREAMS New England!
