Abandoned

Tractor On The Mountain
Ashfield, Massachusetts

When his world turned white
and snow covered the hay
The farmer decided...
to call it a day.

Hi Sunny, congratulations on your 200th post and 605th photo.I love your post and apologise for being so errant over the past 4 months. I'm soon off to North Africa to join my dh and will have HEAPS of time to blog, comment, blog again, comment some more. Oh bliss! I agree, Clarice really knows how appealing she is - and is actually curling around the tree trunk in that photo, calling loudly to me! Thanks for always visiting my blog Blessing and hugs for 2010. Jo

The pleasure is all ours, Sunny. I live in the same landscape as you, but I feel as if I'm opening a little gift each morning when I visit your blog. Congratulations on 200 and here's to many, many more!

Your photo of an abandoned tractor in the midst of all that snow, along with the music, saddens me, in a good way though.
To me it seems to represent the unexpected, the missing, and changes in life.

Hi Sunny
I have just found the time to have a good wander through your blog, and I find it very absorbing with some great posts. I can see where your love of barns come from they are so diverse and beautiful. I also find the covered bridges fascinating and wonder why they were built, maybe in the days when horses were greatly used they could not see the rushing rivers or voids they were passing over as that may spook them.
With regard to your comment on my last post, I would not know anyone from Slades Rd except my Sisters family and her inlaws. They were called "Trevains" the Father and two Sons worked for English China Clays and on Sundays the did a delivery Paper Round in the local area. Take care and keep those posts coming.

Congratulations on your 200th post! :o)

This is a great tractor. It looks a bit forlorn, don't you think? So isolated in the cold and snow...

It is an abandoned machine, expressing such rejection. Find me a shed, I work hard enough to come out of the cold. Your photo really give s the tractor a spirit. Cold and more snow coming this afternoon. Beyond cold for the rest of the week around here.
