I absolutely Love this beautiful country scene....the snow, and the perfect house *sighs* and awesome barn with such character ....oh oh.... now homesick for the countryside in lower Michigan.
How about the ice, when will it be gone? We have a lot of ice for kool aid around here. I will lots of sticks to pick up in my yard, when the snow goes away and it gets warm or vice versa. I am glad they still paint red on their barns out there. It isn't very common around here. Heck barns are very common around here any more either. Take care, the piano music helps my bad mood.
A really lovely picture Sunny. Years ago when I worked on a farm, the old boys used to say (refering to a TV mast) if you can see the Belmont mast it's going to rain and if you can't see it, it's raining
wonderful wintery photo! The bright red barn warms the whole landscape/ That, the blue sky, and the star add cheeriness that would be absent otherwise. (The blue sky helps as well.) love the saying!
It's so pretty in that part of the state. And as for the proverb well that may happen a time or two before it finally settles down and turns to spring...
From the shores of New England to the Oregon coast, I would like to share some of the places that I've been and things that I've seen.
As we travel you may notice; there is an emphasis on Massachusetts...my home state, you will see a lot of barns...that I love, whether old, new or dilapidated, we are not traveling in any particular direction, and we may visit some places more than once.
Please enjoy my American Photo Journey and your comments are welcomed!

The photo in the title...
features the Far Away Farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts.
I was born in my grandmother's old mill house in Cornwall, England and came to the USA with my parents in 1958. My Dad was in the RAF and as a child I lived in many different locations in England and even the Rock of Gibraltar.
Massachusetts has always been home in the US except for a brief period when I resided in Idaho, giving me a chance to explore the Great American West. For nearly 30 years I lived on Cape Cod before my husband and I moved back to the mountains* of Massachusetts with our Goldendoodle Lucy, and our cats, Lilly and Molly. I am also the mother of a grown son.
*Some of you would call them hills but they're mountains to me!

But while it's on the mountain it sure is pretty...especially in your shots Sunny. I also love the Woodland Road image...did you get out of the car???
Happy days
Wonderful photo.I like it.
What a beautiful Proverb, it fits so well with this sweet place!

Now that's something to think about, eh, Sunny! Excellent. The snow looks so clean. Is it?
That's a good example of a BIG barn! Look how small the double doors look!
I just realized the house and barn are almost exact replicas of a "farm house and barn playset" I have...leftover from grandchildren's younger days!
Hello Sunny :)
I absolutely Love that quote !

Beautiful music I hear playing too!
Was nice visiting your blog :)
That sooooo sounds like something my Mom would have said to me if I asked, "When is it going to get warm?" Sending some Texas heat your way...
Wonderful Blue against the vivid red barn! Thank you for being willing to go out in the burr chilly cold to take such wonderful pictures!
Very pretty. I have always wanted to visit New England but have never had the chance.
I ahve always wanted to take an old barn and convert it to live in.....
This photo looks like it could easily become a picture puzzle. Very nice.
The snow pictures are beautiful sunny, but I especialy like the New England Proverb.
I've been watching your blog but have not commented. Have'nt posted to my blog in 5 days, I'd better get busy.
Oh I imagine that's the truth of it, too. Bee-U-Tee-Ful red barn in the snow!
Sunny! I had to read the quote twice but I love it...it is quite true isn't it!

Great Sunny... Love the red barn with the star on it... Red is so pretty against the white snow.
