A flock of Sparrows swooped and twittered about as I left the hardware store. This little guy sat amid the vines in the eaves and kept a close eye on me.
Love the picture of the sparrow. Life is every where we look. Around our home we have alot of trees, and lots of sparrows, There are so many variety of colors it is unbelieveable. It is also hard to photograph them, they like to flit around fast.
He's most certainly keeping an eye on you ! I've noticed the birds who choose to make their nests above the signs at the drugstores, could be the lights keep them warm ? Lovely shot !
I don't know why he had to keep an eye on you, I've never thought of you as suspicious-looking. I am glad you kept an eye on this guy and got this great picture.
That makes a great composition. This is the first winter that I have had where the sparrows are the predominate birds at the feeder. Four squirrels and many birds are just everywhere today.
From the shores of New England to the Oregon coast, I would like to share some of the places that I've been and things that I've seen.
As we travel you may notice; there is an emphasis on Massachusetts...my home state, you will see a lot of barns...that I love, whether old, new or dilapidated, we are not traveling in any particular direction, and we may visit some places more than once.

The photo in the title...
features the Far Away Farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts.
I was born in my grandmother's old mill house in Cornwall, England and came to the USA with my parents in 1958. My Dad was in the RAF and as a child I lived in many different locations in England and even the Rock of Gibraltar.
Massachusetts has always been home in the US except for a brief period when I resided in Idaho, giving me a chance to explore the Great American West. For nearly 30 years I lived on Cape Cod before my husband and I moved back to the mountains* of Massachusetts with our Goldendoodle Lucy, and our cats, Lilly and Molly. I am also the mother of a grown son.
*Some of you would call them hills but they're mountains to me!

Nice shot of Sparrow, Sunny. From his point of view you must have looked like a desperado trying to shoot him.

Neat picture, Sunny... I was so excited to see my Song Sparrow this week.. We don't have many sparrows here --at least not in my backyard.
Hugs,
Betsy
Good eye to even see that lil guy up there! heheheee
Gotta keep an eye on that Sunny... Never know what she's going to do next!
;o)
it is very hard to shoot a shot in focus through the vines, this one came out good. i like the vines as much as the bird.

I love the picture. It is always good to have a camera handy, never know what you may see.
Isn't birdsong just the best music this time of year?
He reminds me of a little sparrow that I saw the other day. He alone one a big pile of snow.
