In the country, somewhere between Winter and Spring is the 'Season of Mud'. A time when company is greeted with, "Nice to see you, take your shoes off!" and cries of, "I just washed that floor!" echo down the mountainside.

you make mud season look so seductive, sunny. i loved your poem yesterday on my blog! thank you! try to stay out of the ruts.
Isn't that the truth? About the shoes I mean:) Great picture Sunny, a beautiful sunset. Our snow has just about gone now.
That sunset looks so perfect and promising above the snow and mud!
Impressive words and so magnificent landscape!
Wonderful capture, well done!

I am well familiar with the season of mud. It occurs a few times a year around here! :o)
That's a beautiful photo Sunny!
Ha ha. Yes, so true. I'm always yelling both those things to James. I'm not sure how his shoes are always so much dirtier than mind.
I love the lighting in this picture and the beautiful sunset. The snow sitll looks so fluffy and pristine in most places.
Beautiful gorgeous pictures.
Your comments about mud rooms made me laugh. I could just hear my mother say that. I was a Forest Service kid and we lived way up in the mountains and she fought the mud.
That is a wonderful sunset even with snow in the picture. We have stopped freezing here so our snow is going away. The large amounts of snow in northtern Iowa is going to cause flooding with all of our rives here in the central part of the state.
I would take the mud if I could see sunsets like that every evening! OK...only for a couple of days!
wonderful photos sunny, and my niece just emailed me and said PA is starting the season of mud and she has two labs that live in the house. oh my
I love this photo, the red sky really makes it.
Gorgeous sunset, Sunny.... The colors are awesome.
We had a wonderful Birthday celebration and got home today!!! I'll post a blog tomorrow morning.
Hugs,
Betsy
Lovely! The transistion from winter to spring is always difficult, but when my kids were little I absolutely dreaded it. Now I can take it in stride and just enjoy the thought of spring coming.
Beautiful shot Sunny
Beautiful photograph Sunny and I just hear the other day someone say the it is the mud season...now I know what that means! I never thought I would say it but I bet you are glad for the "mud Season"...Spring can't be far off. Although I am going to miss your beautiful snow pictures.

This is a lovely evening scene, Sunny. I do remember those days of mud all over the floor and we didn't even live on a dirt road. Mud is just attracted to the soles of shoes.
It may be the season of mud, but you've captured a beautiful scene. The colors in the sky are amazing.
Oh my goodness - the color in that sky is gorgeous!
