Spring run off on the Deerfield River roars over the Salmon Falls in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. The usually placid area of the Glacial Potholes is covered by a raging torrent of water fed by northern melting snow. There's only one word for this picture--WOW! Just stunning!
The Missouri River is a few blocks from my home. It has just crested from the fourth flooding in the last three years. All due to the runoff coming from up river.
Thanks for the visit to my cow yard art. I do have a photo of a gas tank I saw in Iowa last year that was painted to look like a yellow submarine. It even had a periscope added to it. But, I think there has to be a better way to decorate one then either of them.
That is quite a raging torrent! I wouldn't be wanting to live near there at this time of year (if I wanted to sleep)
Recording the sound of the rushing water was a great idea. Even though it was fast running and noisy I found it quite relaxing to watch.
Wow, I am in awe of the power of this rivers flow. Your video is fantastic, Sunny. Any one or thing falling in would be sweep away in the blink of an eye.
I couldn't get the sound to work, Sunny, but I can just as easily imagine it from this image.
Your photograph is great but the video really shows off the energy of the water.
Wonderful video and photo Sunny. I can almost feel the power of all that rushing water.
thank you for the offer, but i would rather NOT go with the flow in this photo. did you record the sound yourself? what a great idea, made the photo come alive. our house in KY was on the edge of a creek that during the summer was just a light noise we did not notice, but overnight it would become this raging noise you have posted here. at night i would lay in bed and listen to it and hope it did not come up out of the banks. when we were outside conversation had to be yelled to be heard.
That is quite a flow. I grew up really close to a riverbed and I used to love to sit watch and listen to it. That's a really nice sight.
Wow. That's a fierce flow. The video really shows how loud and powerful it is. Even without the video the top picture really depcits the torrent.
Awesome energy !
Now I see why flooding is such a danger, not only the level of water, but the wrath of it's fury literally takes down buildings, and anything in it's path.
Beautiful nevertheless....
Oh my, it's really roaring! That must be exciting to watch since the area is usually placid as you pointed out.
It's beautiful!
My goodness, THAT'S RAGING!!! Will the water rise higher & flood there where you stood? I sure hope not!
Cool video!
You captured the power of all that water very well in both your photo and your video.
Lovely roaring waters Sunny, with great pics.
Sunny, you never cease to amaze me. That water feature is outstanding. I wish I knew just more but I barely know of the simple things. I would never figure that out. I loved it.!
Wow....wow....wow!!
Awesome Sunny!
That water is really powerful... I love hearing that sound. You captured it well... Loved the video.
Hugs,
Betsy
Wow Sunny...that video is impressive! I about jumped out of my seat when the volume came on...the force of that water is amazing.
Dan
That is a lot of water from a heck of a lot of snow.
