Nice shot of the weather vane Sunny, we get some nice ones over here as well. That previous post with the photo of Bug Hill is a real delight, makes you feel you want to be walking in that winter landscape.
Hmmm...I'm not sure...if he's been up there a long time he must be hungry so I would imagine he is pointing the way to the trough!! Though I get the strong impression that someone has been sneaking up there and feeding him because he doesn't look at all like he's starving!!
another first, i have never seen a pig on a weather vane, I have seen roosters and birds of all kinds and even a horse, but not a pig. must be a pig farm.
Oh, I bet he is. A chubby guy, isn't he? I love how you have this perfectly framed with the trees. I really like on this vane. We don't see many where we are.
My son in Maine was given to him a free weather vane in the shape of a vulture. He couldn't sell it and my son is as crazy as I am when things are free. I will have to post it.
From the shores of New England to the Oregon coast, I would like to share some of the places that I've been and things that I've seen.
As we travel you may notice; there is an emphasis on Massachusetts...my home state, you will see a lot of barns...that I love, whether old, new or dilapidated, we are not traveling in any particular direction, and we may visit some places more than once.
Please enjoy my American Photo Journey and your comments are welcomed!

The photo in the title...
features the Far Away Farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts.
I was born in my grandmother's old mill house in Cornwall, England and came to the USA with my parents in 1958. My Dad was in the RAF and as a child I lived in many different locations in England and even the Rock of Gibraltar.
Massachusetts has always been home in the US except for a brief period when I resided in Idaho, giving me a chance to explore the Great American West. For nearly 30 years I lived on Cape Cod before my husband and I moved back to the mountains* of Massachusetts with our Goldendoodle Lucy, and our cats, Lilly and Molly. I am also the mother of a grown son.
*Some of you would call them hills but they're mountains to me!

I think this might be the piggy who had roast beef, Sunny. He's looking awfully content up there. How are you feeling today?

Oh, my. You can't sit and I can't stand. What a pair we make! Should you see the doc?
I love your barn pics. We don't have many barns with weather vanes on them in OK. I think the wind blows them off.

Sunny, I hope you're feeling ok after your fall!

That's a splendid image Sunny. Love the contrasts, the outline of the little pig against that sky.
Thanks for the wonderful picture with the great title and text. It's great on so many counts.
I hear it..... It goes "Oink Oink Oink" as it turns. AND---he says "Wee Wee WEE---all the way home!" ha ha
Cute picture and post.
Hugs,
Betsy
Didn't realise weathervanes could be so full of character. This one is great!
Happy hunting for more!
Take care Sunny
I like this but I have a vision of someone kicking this poor pig like a football. :)
He's the leader of the pack, pointing to the beef market
