when my husband was very young, first driving in PA, his favorite thing to do was look for old abandoned cars/trucks in fields like this one. several of his race cars (he was a drag racer for years) he found and bought for a little of nothing. like this photo.
Guess they just leave the ole truck where it died, huh???? Around here in our community, we are not allowed to have a yard full of old cars and trucks... I'm sorta glad about that rule though... Of course, a farm is totally different...
There is a very old car out in a field along the interstate that I want to stop and shot, but it seems like I could be endangering myself. Maybe I will just always carry the camera and on a good day I could get out. Your truck looks like a cool old guy. Great shot.
I like this in black and white! Why is it that they leave the old trucks in the field? I don't get it! There's an old truck in the field next to this campground in a cow pasture. I taken a gazillion pictures of it, with the purple thistles growing up around it.
From the shores of New England to the Oregon coast, I would like to share some of the places that I've been and things that I've seen.
As we travel you may notice; there is an emphasis on Massachusetts...my home state, you will see a lot of barns...that I love, whether old, new or dilapidated, we are not traveling in any particular direction, and we may visit some places more than once.
Please enjoy my American Photo Journey and your comments are welcomed!

The photo in the title...
features the Far Away Farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts.
I was born in my grandmother's old mill house in Cornwall, England and came to the USA with my parents in 1958. My Dad was in the RAF and as a child I lived in many different locations in England and even the Rock of Gibraltar.
Massachusetts has always been home in the US except for a brief period when I resided in Idaho, giving me a chance to explore the Great American West. For nearly 30 years I lived on Cape Cod before my husband and I moved back to the mountains* of Massachusetts with our Goldendoodle Lucy, and our cats, Lilly and Molly. I am also the mother of a grown son.
*Some of you would call them hills but they're mountains to me!

The perfect memorial for a truck's well spent life.

That happens to a lot things, not just vehicles. So many times objects and people of great memories are just left behind.
Grand place to rest, at the top, ideal for a photo Sunny>

Have a wonderful 4th weekend.

Sounds sort of sad, Sunny, but a fitting resting place for that ole truck. Have a wonderful weekend.
Seems that is done often around the country!
These old cars and trucks look so regal, especially this old truck resting at the top of the hill. Great image!
