This Brown Leghorn Rooster strutted his stuff on the barnyard wall and crowed like it was the crack of dawn... actually it was a ten past two, but I didn't have the heart to tell him!
To enjoy his colorful feathers, please click picture to enlarge.
Hi Sunny Just caught up with your last few posts, that Rooster is great and if I got close enough to that Snake it would have been a Pin Head in the image.
our neighbor had one and it was a great alarm clock. and yes they do crow other times than at the crack of dawn. since I am a crack of dawn riser, i did not mind, but others did. he is a nice specimen. love the barn scene in the header. so peaceful.
He is adorable! So puffed up and at the top of his world.
My neighbor has a rooster that thinks any time of the day and night is morning. He sometimes wakes up at midnight and starts crowing. I'm surprised none of the other neighbors have had rooster pie for dinner!
From the shores of New England to the Oregon coast, I would like to share some of the places that I've been and things that I've seen.
As we travel you may notice; there is an emphasis on Massachusetts...my home state, you will see a lot of barns...that I love, whether old, new or dilapidated, we are not traveling in any particular direction, and we may visit some places more than once.
Please enjoy my American Photo Journey and your comments are welcomed!
YOU MAY CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE IT.
The photo in the title...
features the Far Away Farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts.
I was born in my grandmother's old mill house in Cornwall, England and came to the USA with my parents in 1958. My Dad was in the RAF and as a child I lived in many different locations in England and even the Rock of Gibraltar.
Massachusetts has always been home in the US except for a brief period when I resided in Idaho, giving me a chance to explore the Great American West. For nearly 30 years I lived on Cape Cod before my husband and I moved back to the mountains* of Massachusetts with our Goldendoodle Lucy, and our cats, Lilly and Molly. I am also the mother of a grown son.
*Some of you would call them hills but they're mountains to me!

He's beautiful with all those wonderful colors.
But crowing at ten past two!? Ack =)
Well it was the crack of dawn somewhere in the world, wasn't it?
Magnificent creature, but I wouldn't want him waking me up at ten past two......
He is a most beautiful rooster... looks somewhat like a small decorative one I have sitting in my window!

Beautiful rooster, Sunny.... Guess he's so pretty that he thinks he can crow any time he wishes!!!! ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Too funny. His colors are so beautiful. Wow! He looks like he's standing sentry here.
That's a bit too early for me. He's very handsome so I suppose he needs to "blow his own trumpet".

(guffaw) THAT is hilarious! Lovely photo, too--made me giggle.
He is a beauty!
Perhaps someone needed waking up from his/her after lunch nap!
Oh yeah, somewhere near here there's also a rooster that crows at the most unexpected times! :)
God bless you!

I wouldn't have bothered telling him either.
Any rooster that looks like that, is going to strut his stuff. If you can say rooster are pretty, this bird is.
You are so considerate of the fragile male ego.
Your photography is over the top! I love this blog!
He is the boss in the yard for sure.
