I probably would though we do have snakes around here. We used to have a Muscovy duck that sat on her eggs in a hole like that until one day something got her. I placed a child's china tea set in it later for some future child to find.
We have no snakes or anything particularly dangerous around these parts but I would still not put my hand in there. I'd send Amy the dog to scout around on my behalf however.
Nope. I won't even dangle my arm over the side of the bed at night for fear something beneath the bed will grab me. Forget about sticking my hand into a big black hole.
No I would NOT put my hand in that hole, spiders, bugs, snakes etc come to mind right away. but i would take the photo just like you did. I got some really fantastic shots of knots on trees at the park last week. of course soon to be seen on my blog.
Naw, not even when I was younger !! Around here, you would probably be inviting yourself into a groundhog den, they have HUGE teeth ! A lovely, picture, very intriguing, I'd be tempted to look inside ;)
From the shores of New England to the Oregon coast, I would like to share some of the places that I've been and things that I've seen.
As we travel you may notice; there is an emphasis on Massachusetts...my home state, you will see a lot of barns...that I love, whether old, new or dilapidated, we are not traveling in any particular direction, and we may visit some places more than once.
Please enjoy my American Photo Journey and your comments are welcomed!
YOU MAY CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE IT.
The photo in the title...
features the Far Away Farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts.
I was born in my grandmother's old mill house in Cornwall, England and came to the USA with my parents in 1958. My Dad was in the RAF and as a child I lived in many different locations in England and even the Rock of Gibraltar.
Massachusetts has always been home in the US except for a brief period when I resided in Idaho, giving me a chance to explore the Great American West. For nearly 30 years I lived on Cape Cod before my husband and I moved back to the mountains* of Massachusetts with our Goldendoodle Lucy, and our cats, Lilly and Molly. I am also the mother of a grown son.
*Some of you would call them hills but they're mountains to me!

It depends on how strong the dare was.
Very nice photo.
Darryl and Ruth : )
Oh, no, I would absolutely not stick my hand in that hole. It does look very sinister.
... uh, probably not! Nonetheless, it makes for a good photo to see who actually took up your dare and the consequences! =)

Not without a lot of inspection first. I do not want to grab a snake.

I would stick my hand in there, after I first stuck my walking stick in there. In my geocaching hobby I have stuck my hand into lots of tree trunks.
No way.

The only thing I would stick in there would be my camera lens ... flash on!
As long as you did it first.lol
Absolutely not!
No, I wouldn't! Not even if you double dared me! If I did, I have no doubt the biggest, hairiest spider would crawl on me. Great photo, though. :)

No---I wouldn't want to stick my hand in that hole ---but when my sons were younger, they would have done it....
I'm sure it made a good home for some critters --maybe several...
Thanks for sharing... Glad you enjoyed your COW.
Hugs,
Betsy
Isn't there a teaching about that? There could be any number of critters in there. I sit and wait for a cat to check it out for me.

Hmmm - NO!
Not if it were around here, I would not. Squirrels, birds and a raccoon live in the holes of my trees.
Oh I don't think so, thank you very much. Beware of the unforeseen!
I think I'll just admire your wonderful photo and let someone else be brave.
Not on your life! I think about bees, snakes, raccoons, any number of nasty things in there!
