One of the eleven, 410' tall wind turbines located atop a ridge in the Green Mountain National Forest in Searsburg, Vermont.
The facility has been online since July, 1997 and provides enough emission free electricity to supply 1,600 average Vermont households.

I always find the wind farms fascinating when we are traveling. It makes those old windmills all the farms used to have seem positively puny.
Iowa has so many of these on it's northern flat plains. They almost look alien when you drive up on them along the interstate.
two nights ago i watched these gentle giants spinning from a long distance...in fact...they may actually be in the image i posted today but it's possible the evening was too hazy for my camera to have captured them.
That thing is very impressive! Look how it towers above the treeline!
Power by wind, way to go.
Great post Sunny.
Didn't realize how large these actually are until seeing this photo.
Wow - is it really that HUGE? It looks downright massive compared to the trees!!! I had no idea!
We saw many turbines like this on our trip out west last month. Until then I didn't realize how large some of them were.
It's impressive and so is that beautiful blue sky!
are wind turbines the answer to our power problem?
