Oh! Ye'll Take The High Road...

I'll take the low road
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye...

Thistle
On the bonnie banks of a hay field
Ashfield, Massachusetts

Lyrics from the traditional Scottish song 'Loch Lomond'
1841.

Thistles are quite wonderful thorns and all. I love the lovely purple bloom.

This is inspired text to go with your great picture of the thistle. The blossoms are pretty, but I still don't like them.

The tree line behind our place is a riot of pale purple as the thistle is everywhere. Love the DOF in this shot.

P.S. My mom is from Massachusetts... little town called Millis and she has a brother who still lives there.

It's very beautiful ... but if we get caught with thistles on our property, we get a nasty letter telling us to get rid of them "or else"!!! (they're considered nuisance and invasive here).

Thistles are beautiful to look at but on my first encounter with one I came away with thorns in my hand.. Ouch, lesson learned!

I hope you are feeling better with each passing day.. always thinking of you.
hugs,
Pam

I oftentimes sing that song at the top of my voice when I'm on my own of course :)
Thistles are beautiful, but we try to eradicate them as soon as they pop up, they can be deadly to livestock.
Hope all is well !

Note to you,
Don't sweat the small stuff such as responding when your not up to it.. it doesn't bother the people that really care about you and how you are.
I said it before and I'll say it again.. we'er not going anywhere and will never forget about you.. Miss sweet and funny, Sunny.

DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY and TAKE CARE.. that my friend is what matters most!!!

I like the purple color though when I am hiking, I don't like the prickles.
