Down By The Station

Recently, while visiting family in New York state,
we enjoyed a 'rainy day' excursion on the
Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad.

We rocked and rattled down the tracks in 100 year old railroad cars.

With one hand on the throttle, the engineer kept a watchful eye.

Picturesque New York farmland slipped by rain spotted windows.

That would be a wonderful train ride, even in the rain.

Thank you for taking us along on your adventure. I loved it!

Re "Some may call them hills but they're mountains to me." we call them mountains down here, too and they're part of the same chain, the oldest mountains on Earth.

Hi Sunny, I love train rides too especially through the mountains of beautiful upper state NY.
One of the best vacations we took was to Saranac Lake north of Milford.

hugs,
Pam

Looks like you had a fun trip! We just visited the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum at Strasburg, and they have an excursion steam train too, but we didn't take it this trip--maybe next time.
